Parent Meeting – Monday, Aug. 15

Reminder: We have a TAL parent meeting on Monday, August 15.

Time: 7-8:30 pm

Location: Farmington Hills City Hall, City Council room

Email invite is shown below.

Please review the information at (resources and GT 101) and consider the following questions to be discussed:

1.       What would you like to see happen to help your (accelerated learner) child this coming year?

2.       If you were unhappy/ concerned with school last year, what are the most important items that you would like to be different?

3.       What is the one highest need that you would like to see addressed or advocated for?

The objectives of the meeting are to

  •  report back on district’s advice to help with individual student advocacy,
  •  prepare for the school year including activities, events and workshops
  • report on summer activities.
  • Information on the Center for Talent Development will be presented.
Additional Questions to consider:
4.       Can you suggest any workshops for children or speakers that we can bring to our area?
5.       What field trips or events may be of interest for our group to participate in this school year?
6.      We would like to have a positive presentation to the school board regarding TAL. What would you recommend including in our presentation/letter?

During a portion of our meeting we would like group participation in discussing the questions above. Participation is optional but if you feel comfortable please plan on contributing ideas and information regarding the needs of your students.

Please note, this is our third meeting as a group but may be the first meeting for many of you. If you have not had a chance yet, please review information at under meeting minutes and links. If you are unable to attend, but would like to contribute your perspective to the questions above please email your responses.
I am eager to unify our efforts to help our children’s needs be met.  Together, we can do this!
