Book Clubs Book List

We invite students from all grades to attend k-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 book club this Wed. July 6th. Activities will be held at main branch children’s section Farmington Community Library Wednesday evenings.  K-2 begins at 6 pm, Grades 3-8 begin at 6:30 pm.

The suggested protocol for the weekly book club: Children should read material the week prior, come prepared to discuss the night the book is listed, bring new words learned and additional questions. Each meeting will begin with a 7 minute mixer (lyric analysis, Destination Imagination Instant Challenge, open to new ideas to help kids become acquainted ) followed by group discussion. Extensions from materials can be explored. A current events portion may follow discussion. An adult facilitator is needed each evening to guide children in discussions, but the focus is to minimize adult facilitator and allow children to lead.

The grade levels are a suggestion. The goal is to be with peers. There is flexibility within the groups to go where your child is interested. Please visit and click on kids pages, or teens pages. There is a link for book talk books on the kids page, booklists for teens page to preview suggestions of books.
