K-2 Canoeing Trip

For our K-2 group, from Kristin Hoy:

At our last meeting I volunteered to set up a canoe trip for us.  I will be unable to attend our next TAL meeting so thought I’d get your input via e-mail and then set things up.

We will be canoeing out of Heavner’s Proud Lake location. www.heavnercanoe.com  The entire canoe trip including a break for picnic lunch/ dinner will be 2 1/2 to 3 hours.  Allow 30-minute drive time.  Would you prefer a weekday 10:30am-1:30pm or a week-end 4pm-7pm?

Cost is ~$30 per canoe.  You need your driver’s license at time of rental. As many as four people can pile into one canoe (two adults and two small children).  Or you can canoe with only one child.  Or anything in between. I am a novice canoeist and have recently successfully managed all of these combinations so I know you can do it, too!

We would canoe upstream for about 1 1/4 hours.  Take a lunch/ dinner break (pack your own meal).  Then paddle back downstream for 3/4 hour.

This is a family event.  Siblings are welcome.  You will pay for your own canoes at time of rental.  I will not be collecting any money ahead of time.

Please reply to this note if you can commit to going canoeing and if you prefer the weekday or week-end time.

Thanks and hope you can join us!
Kristin Hoy
